The Republic of Indonesia Government was planning to give free land resources to all poor families in its country.

This issue was declare in the 3rd National Land Symposium at the middle of December 2006 in Jakarta.

At the event the Chairman of National Land Institution (Ketua Badan Pertanahan Nasional) was explaining The Republic of Indonesia Government plan to give some free land to poor peoples start from 2007 until 2014.

The government was planning to give entire 6 million hectares of land for 40 million poor peoples in Indonesia. In year of 2007 (First Chapter Program) the government will give some certification lands to 5 thousands poor families.

This plan is looks like will be realize after the Limited Cabinet Meeting at Istana Negara (the President Office) in May 22, 2007. The sign was declare by the Chairman of National Land Institution, Mr. Djojo Winoto.

He was explaining that the government will preparing until 9.25 million hectares of land to supporting this program.

I was agreeing with this program. I hope if this program is going to be real, the total of poor peoples number at my beloved country can significant reduce.

Actually, for now the poor peoples are spread out in some villages. They occupation majoring as farm labor and just receive income only from little divide of the production from the land owner.

But, I think the government was formulating best law to arrange this program. If the law is fix and clear, the bad execution program for poor peoples as cash direct help program can be anticipating earlier.
